For the outdoor lovers out there, we at Little Peak Creek Farm offer canoeing, kayaking and tubing in Ashe County, North Carolina. Horseback riding is another popular activity in the region, and equestrian farms are just a short drive from our farm in Jefferson. Our guests come from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Maryland, Delaware, Michigan and all over North Carolina.
Visit West Jefferson for art galleries and performing arts events, or stroll the beautiful town and stop in the unusual shops to find a special treasure to take home. Beginner art classes are offered for children and adults. It’s a great place for plein air painting, with a gallery on-site. There’s also a gallery in West Jefferson filled with our owner’s beautiful artwork. Antiques and products from the farm are also sold in our barn loft. In addition, the top of our property offers a stunning view of mountains in North Carolina and Virginia – for inspiration while painting.
The town has several wonderful restaurants to fill up on mouthwatering eats. There’s also a dinner theater nearby for a fun night out, or browse through an old country store for authentic pickin' and grinnin' anytime, rain, snow or shine!
Across the street from the farm is one of 3 state parks for hiking, along with a gem mine, where you can pan for stones from the old Ore Knob Mine. The hiking trails feature various levels and difficulties.
Go canoeing, kayaking or fishing, down by the historic New River. Locally rented canoes and watercraft are available. The river serves up schools of fish, including small mouth bass and trout. Experience fantastic fly fishing and other types of angler sports.
From West Jefferson, take 221 and hwy 88 toward Sparta. Cross over the river bridge and go 3 more miles on 88. Turn left on Low Gap Road. At the end of Low Gap, turn left on Little Peak Creek Road, after The Peaks development on the right, and our drive is the next drive on the right. Look for The Willingham's 2240.
