Want to know the history of our Little Peak Creek Farm in Jefferson, North Carolina?
Stephen and Lisa married in 1977, after knowing each other for only a week! Their whirlwind romance brought them to Ashe County for their honeymoon and it was so beautiful, they just decided to stay!
They lived in Glendale Springs for 30 years and worked on their little farm house, never thinking they would leave it behind. It was charming, homey, and was admired by many people. Then, Stephen came across their soon-to-be new home in 2007, our Little Peak Creek Farm.
Within less than 8 months, Stephen designed an entrance and a new driveway, cleared acres of old Christmas trees, and cleaned up discarded materials all over the property.
He remodeled the cabin for them to live in until they could build their new home. He also renovated the barn for storage and to give the animals a place to call home. He designed and built their new home they refer to as the “lodge” and the existing cabin became our rental facility.
The amount of work done on the farm transformed the property from an abandoned farm into a magical place that has a life its own.
Lisa retired from teaching an elementary school when they made the move in order to help out on the farm. Together, they have created a place that reflects their talents and welcomes all its visitors with open arms.
Stephen is also an accomplished artist and his works grace our lodge and cabin. His oil paintings and stained glass pieces are for sale at his gallery (also on the farm) and at The Artists’ Theatre in West Jefferson.
Lisa loves designing, cooking, crafting, sewing, gardening and, of course, animals!
Book your stay at Little Peak Creek Farm and meet the couple that created the magic that no other place can offer.
